Competition Entries 2017-18

The Middlesex Schools' FA is delighted to announce that the entry process for the 2017-18 competitions is underway.

To ease the burden on teachers, we have made changes to the process to make it easier and quicker to complete. Schools will now select the tournaments they wish to play in by completing an online form and will then be invoiced by email after the entries have been checked and verified. This reduces the risk of schools missing out because a paper form has been lost, or not processed for payment.

The deadline for entries is Friday 23rd June 2017. The draws will then be published on msfa.co.uk on Monday 3rd July, which will hopefully assist schools to arrange matches for early in the Autumn Term.

The form has been tested on desktop and mobile devices and works well on both, which we anticipate will speed up the completion process for school staff affiliating their teams. We hope that this change is welcomed by schools and welcome any feedback. The form is available to complete by clicking below:

In a pulsating, end-to-end Kay Cup Final, Queens Park Community School triumphed 3-2 after a stirring second half comeback at The Hive, Barnet FC.

Theo Alexandrou was the goal scoring hero for Queens Park thanks to his a stunning late winner, dribbling his way past three defenders before driving the ball past the goalkeeper.

Early in the game QPCS had taken the lead through a wonderful lob by Albi Alexander after Ayuba Jambang had sent him clear with a ball over the top of the defence.

New Acting General Secretary

Jess Williams, who has served as the General Secretary of the Middlesex Schools' FA as part of her work with the Middlesex Football Association (the body which governs club football in the County and which has provided some administrative support to MSFA for a number of years), has left her position.

The committee of MSFA wishes to place on record its thanks to Jess for her efforts on behalf of the Association and wish her well for her future career.

The Association will now be assisted by Isaac Jempeji, who will be the Acting General Secretary until the end of the season. Most schools will have no need to contact Isaac directly, as the majority of queries can be answered by the Competition Organisers or by the Association Chairman, Bob Chandler.

MSFA is presently undertaking a review of its administrative arrangements ahead of the 2017-18 season and will communicate any changes to schools before the end of the academic year. This review is focused on those roles which have been filled by Middlesex FA staff, such as the positions of General Secretary, Treasurer and Welfare Officer. The committee would be pleased to hear from any teachers or education professionals who would like to offer their skills and time to supporting schools football.
